Europcar MONTLUCON

I recently rented a car with Europcar for 1 month, from mid-November to mid-December. I picked the car up in France but explained that I would also be driving in Switzerland. At no point in the process of reserving or picking up the car were snow/winter tires mentioned as an option, and I did not know to request them. (I have now learned this lesson!) During the rental period, it became clear to me that the car’s tires were not in good condition, even for summer tires, and the car was not drivable even in very light amounts of snow. I was forced to leave the car on the side of the road and call Europcar customer service. They were very complicated in this process, and everyone I talked to said conflicting information. In the end they said all they would do is have a tow truck move the car to a place by the highway where the roads were completely flat and dry. In my view, the contract I paid to enter into with Europcar was for the use of a safe, drivable vehicle — and when I did not receive this basic service, Europcar refused to swap the car or the tires despite me offering to travel up to 2 hours at my personal expense in order for them to do so. So, I accepted that leaving the car in long-term parking by the closest highway was the only option available to me. I decided to just be grateful I was not injured driving this vehicle! However, my experience with Europcar continued to get worse, as on three separate occasions I have received additional invoices from Europcar (on the last full day of my rental, on the morning I was to return the car, and once a couple weeks after returning the car) for more “administrative” or “environmental” fees. This is despite the fact that my original invoice already included fees with these same titles. When I have asked what these fees specifically cover, I get different answers from everyone I talk to, everything from speeding tickets to parking tickets to penalty for not having snow tires … (and when I ask for details of any alleged traffic tickets, they cannot provide any). My experience with Europcar has been incredibly frustrating, and it seems impossible to get them to give a straight answer. I thought that Europcar was going to be the more economical option for a rental car but with the additional fees charged, on top of the personal expenses incurred from being without a car for half my rental period, I have not saved compared to other rental companies. And for me, the stress of dealing with their customer service is not worth any amount of savings. I have paid for this lesson, and I will definitely never be using Europcar again! And I hope sharing this experience can help save some others the trouble of Europcar as well.

Hi I rent VW I buzz from Europe cars in Europcar Paris Des Princes They did not show me how the car operated,they did not ask me if I know how to charge the rental car I end up battle to charge the car they had to give me charge card as I been told by other Europe agent along my why It very unprofessional And I deal a lot with them Very disappointed
